Uncovering The Truth: Does Social Media Act As SEO For Your Site?

Could Social Media Act as the New SEO in Your Entrepreneurial Network?entrepreneurial network

SproutSocial reminds us that the tools needed to build an entrepreneurial network can be easy to leverage if you know how. They share, “the competition for visibility has never been stronger. With more businesses building out their content strategies and the rising advertising costs, optimizing your organic content is at its highest demand. Although social media doesn’t directly influence your search ranking, greater social signals (such as people sharing your content and sending more traffic to your website) can help you rank higher. Why is this important? Because 33% of traffic from Google’s organic search results go to the first item listed.”

Twitter Google Search

“Not just that, but social content is becoming increasingly more visible in search results”. Take a look at your social followers – are those people interested in your services or buying your products? Now is the time to check in to your entrepreneurial network to get rid of what’s not working and focus your social efforts into your own sales funnel. Is Donald Trump Really Good for Small Business?

Take a Closer Look at the Candidate Before You Cast Your Vote

Donald Trump

Despite, or perhaps because of, his brash nature and political inexperience, Donald Trump has found a way to resonate deeply with small business owners. According to a recent poll from Manta, a small-business networking platform, a whopping 60 percent of over 2,000 small business owners polled planned to vote for Trump in the primary elections (with Ted Cruz coming in a distant second among Republican candidates at 16 percent).

Trump continues to claim that his business acumen and negotiating powers will prove useful in the White House, and so far, small businesses seem to agree. Though some participants in the Manta poll said outright that they “can’t stand Donald Trump as a person,” they favor Trump for his proposed tax policies and feel that he can relate to the ups and downs of owning a business.

While Trump may have found ways to survive as a business owner through decades of dramatic highs and lows, does that really mean he’s the best Presidential candidate for entrepreneurs? Before you cast your vote, consider the following:

He’s an Inaccurate Representation of the American Dream

The life blood of every business is sales. To an extent this true; sales provide much needed revenues to sustain operations, fund expansion programs and business development strategies. But the level of sales a business achieves depends on the size of the market it acquires. Thus, sales are a function of the market that patronizes the products and services of a business.

In order to have sales, your products and services must have a market. It should be very clear by now that sales and marketing are two very different disciplines that share one objective: to create revenue.

In the days before social media and online networking, businesses relied on traditional marketing methods such as distribution of flyers, installation of posters, publication of ads and press …

A Day With Deepak Chopra [Part 1 and 2]

Deepak Chopra Shares His Thoughts on Wellbeing, “Soul Leadership” and Entrepreneurial Spirit.

entrepreneurial spirit

My wife and I recently attended an all-day Deepak Chopra seminar called Radical Wellbeing, Corporate Wellbeing + Soul Leadership. My wife is a big fan of Deepak and shares his thoughts with me frequently.

Since entrepreneurship is a passion of mine, I thought it would be interesting to hear Deepak’s definition of “soul leadership”. He didn’t disappoint. I was fascinated by the overlap between Deepak’s observations and definitions of soul based leadership and my experience with the entrepreneurial journey. Let’s start with the beginning…

We started the day with a meditation (no surprise there). The questions Deepak posed during the mediation were understandably reflective, but I would later learn their meaning…

  • Who am I?
  • What do I want?
  • What is my purpose?
  • What am I grateful for?

Despite being straight forward questions, many people sometimes struggle with these at times.

However, to my relief and enlightenment, Deepak explained that you don’t need to know the answers to these questions. But, if you live these questions and live from your soul, then “life will point you to the answers”. This is a
